Sewer

You are charged for sewer use on your water bill.  This is for water that is returned via sewer lines to the Trenton Wastewater Treatment Plant facility for treatment to reclaim the water.

The sewer bill is based on your actual water use of up to 10,000 gallons for Residential.

The residential base rate for sewer is:
$20.31 PLUS $6.02 per 1,000 gallons used, up to 10,000 gallons.

Commercial I rate is:
$30.67 PLUS $6.02 per 1,000 gallons used, up to 10,000 gallons.

Commercial II rate is:
$83.51 PLUS $6.02 per 1,000 gallons used.

Commercial I is for customers with an average usage of 12,000 gallons or less per month
Commercial II is for customers with an average usage of 12,000 gallons or more per month.

Garbage

This is governed by a City Ordinance which dictates all customers that have City water and sewer utilities MUST also receive one 96-gallon container picked up twice a week for garbage.

The residential rate for garbage is:
$29.37

The commercial rate for garbage is:
$41.39

Scheduled pick-up days are Tuesday and Friday, except for designated holidays. (When a garbage pickup day falls on a holiday, the hauler will pick up garbage on another day during that week to ensure two pickups are made in the week.)  The garbage container is provided to you by the garbage hauler and is the ONLY container they will pick up.

We ask that you keep cans in the back of the home on non-garbage pickup days.  All household garbage must be placed by the side of the road before 7 a.m. on the day of pickup.

If you have questions regarding the above, please call 463-4000 for further information.
