Trenton CRA Street Improvements
The City of Trenton Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) hereby gives notice that bids will be accepted from qualified bidders for the following work:
Improvements to NW 1 Street, NW 1 Avenue, NW 2 Street, NE 3 Avenue, NE 3 Avenue and construction of two parking areas. Improvements include base construction, paving, excavation, storm drainage, concrete curb, concrete sidewalk, sod, electric with area lighting and other incidental items.
Approximately 180 days will be allowed for construction.
Proposal Documents are available by contacting the City of Trenton at 500 N. Main Street, Trenton, Florida 32693. Any questions regarding this RFP shall be addressed in writing and submitted no later than February 1, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. (local time) to: Andrew Carswell, PE at dacengineer12@gmail.com or Lyle Wilkerson, City Manager at citymanager@trentonflorida.org. All questions and the responses to these questions will be displayed on the City’s website at www.trentonflorida.org. Bidding Documents will not be issued after 5:00 P.M. (local time), Tuesday, January 31, 2023.
Proposals must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked “TRENTON CRA STREET IMPROVEMENT”. Electronic (Internet) or facsimile (Fax) bids will not be accepted for this project. ***PLEASE NOTE THAT TRENTON IS NOT A GUARANTEED TIME DELIVERY AREA FOR ANY COURIER OR DELIVERY SERVICE***
A Proposal Guaranty of not less than five percent (5%) of the total actual bid, in the form of either a certified check, cashier’s check, trust company treasurers check, bank draft of any national or state bank, or a Surety Bid Bond, made payable to the “City of Trenton CRA”, must accompany each bid. A check or draft in an amount less than five percent (5%) of the actual bid will invalidate the bid.
Sealed bids will be received at the office of the City of Trenton CRA, 500 North Main Street, Trenton, Florida 32693, until 2:00 P.M. (local time), Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at which time the bids will be opened and the total bid amount for each proposal will be publicly read. In accordance with Florida Statute Chapter 119.071(1)(b) sealed proposals pursuant to this competitive solicitation are exempt from public inspection and copying until such time as the City provides notice of an intended decision or until 30 days after opening the proposal, whichever is earlier.
Award, if made, will be based on the apparent lowest responsive and responsible bidder based on the total of the project for the actual work intended, including selected alternates, if any, and whose proposal complies with all the Contract Document requirements. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals submitted in response to this solicitation and to waive any technical irregularities or immaterial defects in any Proposal that does not affect the fairness of the competition, and the right to re-advertise for bids when determined by the City to be in the best interests of the City.
All work is to be done in accordance with the Project Plans, and Special Provisions to accompany the Florida Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction 2022.
An entity or affiliate who has been placed on the discriminatory vendor list may not submit a bid to contract with a public entity for the construction of a public work as set forth in Florida Statutes, Section 287.134.
Any person or affiliate who has been placed on the convicted vendor list following a public entity crime may not submit a bid to or contract with a public entity for construction of a public work as set forth in Florida Statutes, Section 287.133.
Bidder shall certify to eligibility in the bid proposal.
Applicants must provide certificate of liability insurance in the amount of $1,000,000.00 or more naming the City of Trenton as additional insured.
Applicant must provide Workers Comp coverage as required by State Law and the City of Trenton’s Policy and Procedures.
